Cloud Access & Data Protection

Cloud access and data protection built for schools

School owners and principals need confidence that admissions, student registers, fee collections, and exam results are protected, backed up, and not tied to a single school computer.

Why Cloud Matters

The difference between local desktop software and Eduvecta.

Local desktop software can tie records to one computer and manual backup habits. Eduvecta keeps core records in cloud-hosted systems and manages database backups centrally.

Local Desktop Software

Risks of Local Storage

  • A hard drive crash can make locally stored student and fee records unavailable.
  • Manual pen-drive backups get corrupted, misplaced, or forgotten.
  • A local installation can tie access to one office computer.
  • Remote parent access may require additional systems.
Eduvecta Cloud Access

Peace of Mind with Eduvecta

  • Core records are stored in cloud-hosted systems rather than one school computer.
  • Automated production database backups are managed centrally.
  • School teams can use supported web and mobile apps.
  • Parents can securely view updates linked to their children.

Security & Architecture

Four layers of protection for your school.

From HTTPS/TLS connections and encrypted database storage to application-level role permissions, Eduvecta applies practical safeguards to school records.

Cloud Access

Cloud-Hosted Access

Eduvecta keeps core school records in cloud-hosted systems, so school teams can use supported browsers and mobile apps without depending on one school computer.

  • Access from supported web and mobile apps
  • Core records are not tied to one school computer
  • Cloud-hosted services for daily school administration
Data Recovery

Automated Database Backups

Eduvecta's production database uses automated backups to support recovery of core school records without requiring schools to maintain a local software installation.

  • Automated backups managed centrally
  • Core records remain available after local hardware failure
  • Database recovery supported when needed
Privacy & Encryption

Data Encryption

Connections between supported browsers or mobile apps and Eduvecta use HTTPS/TLS. Production database storage is encrypted at rest to protect school records.

  • HTTPS/TLS for web and app connections
  • Encrypted production database storage
  • Protection for student and parent records
Access Control

Role-Based Access Permissions

Authenticated access is scoped to a school and controlled through configurable role permissions. Parents access records through links to their children's accounts.

  • Staff access is controlled by school-scoped role permissions
  • Fee collection and fee setup use separate permissions
  • Parents access records linked to their children

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about school data security and backups

Clear answers to common questions school administrators ask about cloud safety.

What happens if our school computer or laptop stops working?

Core school records are kept in Eduvecta's cloud-hosted systems rather than being tied to that computer. Sign in from another supported device to continue.

Do we need to take manual backups on external hard drives or pen drives?

Eduvecta manages automated backups of the production database, so schools do not need to maintain backups of a local installation. Schools can still retain exports where their own record-keeping policy requires them.

Can staff from other schools see our school records?

Application access is scoped to the authenticated school. Users can access only the school context and permissions granted to their account.

Can parents view other students' marks or fee dues?

Parents can access records for children linked to their account through authenticated parent access.
